The TV is always the easiest option. This is a single button that makes the other option just as easy: press it, and you get one screen-free play idea for a toddler, picked for you.
It started as a list: ten ideas, then forty, then a hundred, each with a one-line explanation, from finger painting and block towers to sensory bins and story replays. A list that long is its own kind of decision fatigue, so it became a picker.
How it works
- One big button. Press it and the page does the choosing.
- A burst of bubbles. For about ten seconds, soap bubbles pop up and burst at random across the screen, each one a different idea, as if it is thinking it over.
- The pick. Once the last bubble pops, one grows to fill the screen with the chosen idea in bold color, with a picture behind it.
- Again? The button moves below the answer and asks if you want another. Ideas do not repeat until the list runs out.
It is a single self-contained web page with the ideas built in, so it works offline on any phone, tablet or laptop.
