Built for a parent’s photo library. All of the family’s photos and videos live in a self-hosted Immich archive instead of a paid cloud plan. A small script then presents every video in Jellyfin as one TV show, Home Videos, with one season per year and episodes in date order, so the TV app lists a whole year and plays straight through it.
Nothing is copied: each episode is a link into the read-only photo library, plus a tiny metadata file for the title and date. Episode numbers are assigned once and kept, so watched progress survives, and new videos from the phone show up within the hour.
